Generally, you are asked to arrive 1 to 1 1/2 hours before your schedule surgery time. Please check in at the reception desk. To make your stay more comfortable, please follow these procedures:
1. Please refer to Scottsdale Eye Surgical Center Pre-Op Instruction for Patients.
2. Bring the completed health questionaire the doctor's office gave you. If you did not receive a health questionaire from your doctor you will be asked to complete a form upon arrival to the facility. It is especially important to list all of your medications and the daily dosages.
3. Bring your Medicare and/or other insurance cards.
4. Bring a copy of your Living Will, if you have one.
5. Cell phone use is not allowed within the facility.
6. Leave all valuables and jewelry at home.
7. Wear loose-fitting clothing.
8. Avoid using facial or eye makeup on the day of your surgery.
9. You may leave your dentures and hearing aides in place.
10. Arrange for transportation home. A responsible party must accompany you home. You will not be allowed to drive for 24 hours following your surgery.
If you are accompanied by a family member or friend, one person is welcome to wait in our lobby. Extra seating is very limited. Please tell your friend or family member to be prepared to wait approximately 1-4 hours.
Your surgeon may request that you purchase a post operative medication kit. There is a charge for these medications and are not covered by insurance.
You may request your prescriptions for these medications rather than purchase them from the facility. Please indicate to the registration staff that you want to take your prescriptions with you.
